Apprenticeships at Pendennis Vilanova

Drawing on expertise from Pendennis’ long-established apprenticeship schemes in Falmouth, UK, Pendennis Vilanova were pleased to take on their first apprentices in 2022. The first recruits joined the engineering and paint departments.

The two paint apprentices are under the care of Pendennis’ Mediterranean Paint and Finishing Manager, who was Paint Apprentice Manager at the Falmouth facility before relocating to Vilanova. His role in Falmouth involved training groups of up to 10 apprentices per year through Pendennis’ four-year Yacht Painting apprenticeship, working closely with the apprenticeship provider, Cornwall College. The apprentices in Vilanova will benefit from the same training and expertise as their UK counterparts, ensuring consistency of skills across both locations of the company.

The engineering apprenticeship has included a four week placement at Pendennis’ home base in Falmouth. The apprentice spent time in both the Engineering and Interior Systems Engineering departments there, under mentorship from the company’s experienced tradespeople.
